Tau Lambda Sigma is a local service and social sorority at Truman State University. Our sisterhood began as a “Little Sister” organization to Tau Kappa Epsilon and was formed after TKE Nationals decided to disband all Little Sister programs. Chartered on October 28, 1992, TLS has been an active member of the Truman community for over 20 years.
We are a group of Truman women who volunteer at various non-profit organizations, including the Foster Families of Adair County store, the Humane Society, and Salvation Army. We also babysit foster children, visit the nearby nursing homes, tutor at Ray Miller Elementary school, and participate in on campus service events. Although we help with a number of causes, our main philanthropy is the American Cancer Society. Each year, we raise $2,000+ for this organization and take part in their Relay for Life!
In addition to all the service that we do, TLS is an active sisterhood. Every week, there are different opportunities for us to get together and bond with one another. Whether it’s baking, playing intramurals, throwing a holiday party, or just getting together to watch a movie, there is always something fun happening.
